The Division of the Disaster Management of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment conducted Disaster Risk Management Climate Change Adaptation training for Samoa Umbrella for Non-Governmental Organisations (S.U.N.G.O).

The training aimed to minimise the risk of disaster by reducing vulnerability and building resilience within communities, households and individuals.

Trainer Muliagatele Filomena Nelson emphasised the importance of understanding and being aware of human activities which contribute to climate change, natural causes and effects it places on our societies.

Participants were expected to recognise the Pre-Disaster phase and Post-Disaster phase to teach our communities on ways to prepare and restore when affected by Disasters. The training was held at the S.U.N.G.O Office.
