‘Vailima beer bash’ a hit

The Marina View at Matautu was definitely the place to be last Saturday where the Vailima Beer Bash was staged.

It was an afternoon and evening full of entertainment and fun where guests got the opportunity to taste the newest addition to the Vailima Family.

There were also prizes up for grabs during the event with the prize giving taking place on Friday at the Marina View.

“After the beer bash we had three agencies’s that were raising funds,” said Marina View’s Darryl Scott.

“They were made up of Sporting Groups and Charities. So with the charities we had a competition for all the people to vote on their favorites.”

“Whoever got the most beer caps won the prize. The winning team got 751 beer caps; the group called Titans is a women’s team making their way to Tonga.”

“So Titans won $2,000, Tennis Samoa came in second and won $1,000, and then Casima’s came in third winning $500.”

“So basically that’s what we are here for.”

According to Mr. Scott, the event went great and they have plans to improve on the next one.

“The beer bash was great,” he said.

“I think for the next we will be having a few improvements.

For an afternoon and night event, it’s great to be down near the water at the Marina.”

The event catered to every one of the guests who came by.

“The event was an opportunity to come down and taste the new Vailima beer,” Mr. Scott said.

“We also had live entertainment where we had an 80’s section for people who love old school music. We had a modern section and on the other side we had D.J’s and band playing.”

“It was a great opportunity to come down and have a great time with friends. The charities also ran event at the back to try get votes from the people.”

“Everything went smoothly.”

Mr. Scott continued on to give credit to Vailima for the idea proposal.

“The Idea came about when Kim from Vailima came by and requested the event,” he said.

“So because we just finished doing up the Marina View, the venue was ready to be used for a function. Vailima jumped in and took the opportunity so we just went along with it.

He then continued on to show gratitude towards all those who helped make the event possible.

“I want to say well done to the agencies who won,” Mr. Scott said.

“They put a lot of time into the event on Saturday, they worked very hard and set up the stalls; well done to them. I also want to say thanks to Vailima and we look forward to future events.”

Vailima also took the opportunity to release the name of their new beer at the prize giving. It is called Vailima Premium.
