The Return to Paradise Resort has again come on board to support the 16th Siva Afi International Competition at the end of the month.

On Tuesday, the General Manager of the resort, Ramona Gilchrist presented a cheque of 5,000 tala to the owner and organiser of the competition, Leota Lene Leota, and the Siva Afi team.

Ms. Gilchrist said the money is to help out with the preparation of the competition.

Leota Lene Leota acknowledged the support from the resort over the years.

“Return to Paradise is one of our golden sponsors for the International Competition,” he said.

“We are very fortunate that we have partners who have been supporting this competition from when it first started up until now and Return to Paradise is one of our very strong supporters.

“The competition this year will be bigger and better than all the other years.

“We will have two judges from overseas, as well as some competitors who will be up against our locals.”

Leota said the money from Return to Paradise will go into the cash prices for the competition.

“This will help us a lot as this money will be for the winner and the first runner up,” he said.

“So this means a lot to us and it will ease the burden in some ways as we prepare for the competition towards the end of the month.

“We will also gratefully accept anyone else who wants to help us or contribute. We really appreciate all the help that we can get.”
