A son of Samoa is making his way home next month.

Brown University junior, Trevor Joseph Anesi, the son of Monaheni and Francis  Mona Anesi, will travel to Samoa next month with a team of professors and graduate students from Brown, Yale University, Boston College, and Wesleyan College.

They will be here to collect public health data on the Samoan population.

Trevor, one of the only undergraduates on the team, is a great-grandson of Taulapapa Dr. Malaefou Anesi, a pioneer in surgery at the Moto’otua National Hospital.

An avid and life-long rugby player, Trevor is scrum-half and captain of the Brown   men’s rugby team who looks forward to watching his Manu Samoa play against Wales. 

This internship affords Trevor the opportunity to visit his ancestral home for the first time and to cheer on his favourite rugby team at home.
