Money needed for family and future plans

There is no other way to cope with the expensive cost of living than to get a job to support your family.

This is the belief of a young man Uisese Pili 25 years of age from the village of Saina and Tuana’i.

Mr. Pili was met by the  Village Voice on his way home from his work at his plantation yesterday morning.

He said he is looking for a job at the moment.

“It is really hard going into the festive season when you don’t have money for yourself and money to buy your parents some gifts.

“Life today is so expensive and the only way I could think that would help me and my family is by getting a regular job.

“I used to work before, but then I stayed home because I had a back pain, so I am looking forward to going out again to get a new job to help out with my family.”

“Today in Samoa is really hard because people are just earning a few tala to pay for expensive things.

“I also think that people are facing so much because not only do they have to support their families they are also looking to support the church, contribute to village commitments and their own good.”

Luckily, Mr. Pili said his family has three people who are working and he is presently working the plantation.

“I am the one who is providing my family with the crops from our plantation almost every day.”

Mr. Pili also said he is looking to his own future as well as that of his family.

And he has plans.

He not only wants to get a job to support his family, but for himself as well.

“Yes there are things I want.

“I need money so that I can afford to buy the things that I want, and save up for my marriage too.”
