To single-handedly raise your children can be a struggle.

For Theresa Nauer, from Tapatapao, raising her three children in a house that does not belong to her saddens her.

She voiced her every day worries to the Village Voice.

The 32-year-old lives with her three children in her sister-in-law’s house.

Her husband had recently passed away and all the responsibility now falls on her shoulders.

The unemployed mother stated they depend mainly on income from the crops they sell at the market.

“Some days we eat and other days, if incase I make a mistake with budgeting our weekly expenses, it costs us a day or two without food,” she said.

According to Mrs. Nauer, because her two kids attend school, she is in need of financial support for school fees and school supplies.

Another major concern for the mother of three is the state of the house they live in.

“We are also in need of help to fix the house. The roof leaks when it rains, in terms of security, there is a great demand for a fence because I fear for the lives of my children,” she said.

According to Mrs. Nauer, there is also a great need for a water tank to save and manage the distribution of water. She added they need assistance with a proper toilet.

“At times I would cry myself to sleep when all hope is lost and there seems to be no solutions to the never ending problems that keep piling up every day,” Mrs. Nauer said.
