There is good news for the Manu Samoa Sevens.

There is a chance captain Faalemiga Selesele will be able to take the field for the last leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series in London this weekend.

Selesele who suffered a concussion during the Paris Sevens last weekend is expected to be fit and ready by the weekend, according to an update from the Samoa Rugby Union.

“Falemiga will complete his HIA test 3 today but based on his current level of function, he will be able to play next week (this week,” the Union said.

The same cant be said about playmaker Tila Mealoi who suffered a concussion against South Africa in the quarterfinal of the Paris tournament.

The Union says Mealoi injury is quite severe and he will be rested for the next couple of weeks.

Other players who are injured but are likely to play include Tofatu Solia, Joe Perez and Tomasi Alosio.

The 12-man squad and 13th player will be confirmed later on this week.

Silao Nonu who was the 14th player in Paris will come into selection for this week.

Following a vastly improved performance in Paris, Samoa faces a tough pool in London. The men in blue will take on host nation, England, Australia and Spain.

South Africa - series winners and champions in Paris - are top seeds in Pool A alongside USA, Wales and Kenya.

Pool B is topped by last year’s London champions, Scotland, who will face France, Argentina and Russia on day one in Twickenham.

New Zealand will play Fiji, Canada and Japan.
