Cop who stood up for Commissioner in Court

A Police officer who stood up for Police Commissioner, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil, when he was arrested at locked in a Police cell appeared in the Faamasinoga Fesoasoani Court yesterday. 

Constable Lui who works in the Tactical Operations Squad at the Ministry of Police, is charged with insulting words.  

He is accused of swearing at police officers who arrested Fuiavailiili in November this year. 

Presided by F.F. Court Judge, Malagamaali’i Fialua’e Levi, the officer was represented by lawyer Leiataualesa Komisi Koria. 

National Prosecution Office lawyer, Iliganoa Atoa is the prosecutor.

Prosecution is considering additional charges against Constable Lui.  

Leiataualesa sought an adjournment so he can obtain instructions from his client. 

He explained he was just engaged as counsel yesterday morning. 

 The matter has been adjourned until 2nd February for hearing.
