Former Police Commissioner, Lilomaiava Fou Taioalo, has passed away, leaving behind a grieving family.  Lilomaiava died around 2am on Wednesday morning, while being taken to the hospital.

Lilomaiava’s son, Joe Taioalo, who is also a Police Officer, confirmed his father’s death.  “My mother can’t talk right now,” he said.

“All I can say is that my father has passed away.”  He said Lilomaiava’s body was at the morgue, awaiting his funeral and burial.

Lilomaiava is survived by his wife, Suititi Taioalo, and his eight children and grand children.  Lilomaiava’s service to the Ministry of Police ended in 2014, after a Commission of Inquiry called to have his services terminated.

The former Commissioner is disputing the decision and the hearing of a claim he had filed against the Attorney General, the Ombudsman and others, in relation to that Commission of Inquiry, is pending.
