Following the Samoan Rugby Union bankruptcy announcement last week, the Pacific Rugby Players Welfare is rallying to raise £150,000 to support Manu Samoa players.

“Pacific Rugby Players Welfare is an independent not-for-profit organisation that supports professional and semi-professional players of Pacific Island heritage in the UK and Europe – enabling their ongoing success both on and off the field.

“Following the announcement that the Samoan rugby union is now bankrupt, we want to raise funds to ensure some form of payment for players in the Manu Samoa squad.

“Every penny raised by this fundraising activity will go direct to the players and their families.

“£150,000 equates to approximately £1 for every seat at Murrayfield and Twickenham which will be entertained by the squad members in the coming weeks.”
