Well done, Samoa!

Dear Editor,

Last week I was in Samoa to visit family and friends.

I am a proud Samoan/Kiwi and have spent a lot of time in the fabulous islands of Samoa but for the first time in my life I was impressed with how tidy Apia was looking.

The plethora of plastic bags, old paper, polystyrene casings, bottles and tins were gone.   Apia looked fantastic.

Over the years I have introduced 100’s of visitors to Samoa but I have never said they should visit Apia because I was ashamed of the untidiness of the streets but from now on I will recommend they spend time in the great tropical town of Apia.

The dog control system is working.

Some of my friends went for walks and runs and were not bothered with dogs so that is a huge plus.

So well done Samoan Government and well done Samoa.

Keep our city tidy and any other areas that need a tidy up such as the base and top of Mt Vaea and parts of Faleata I hope they too are targeted area for tidiness.

One last plaudit: we visited many resorts and the politeness and helpfulness of the staff in all the resorts was fantastic as was the courteous service in Apia restaurants.  The training is working.

Go Samoa.
