A landslide on the East Coast of Upolu interrupted traffic yesterday morning. The landslide occurred between the villages of Lauli’i and Luatuanu’u. Eyewitness, Tuia Faletau from Afulilo Aleipata told Samoa Observer the landslide could’ve cost someone’s life if it wasn’t for God.

The decision by the Samoa Law Society to suspend the practicing certificate of lawyer, Pa’u Tafaogalupe Mulitalo, “was too severe”. So says Unasa Iunu Sapolu in response to questions from the Samoa Observer. Pa’u’s suspension was confirmed in a letter by the S.L.S. Secretary, Rebecca Schuster, where he’s accused of breaching the Lawyers and Legal Practitioners Act.

The former Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, will break his long held silence over fears about the alienation of customary lands today. He will do this during a press conference at his Tuaefu residence where he will deliver a paper on the issue. The press conference was confirmed in a letter from his Office earlier this week.
