Meet Danielle Davies, from North Auckland, New Zealand. She’s in the country with her husband, Gideon, for their honeymoon. This is their first time in Samoa.

The Dear Tourist team caught up with Mrs. Davies while she was enjoying the hot sun and the cool breeze at the Taumeasina Island Resort yesterday.

“We are only here for a week and we’ll be leaving on Sunday,” Mrs. Davies said.

“Before coming here, we’ve decided to find a tropical island to enjoy our holiday and because we haven’t been here before that’s why we chose Samoa and told my husband ‘let’s go to Samoa’.

Since they arrived, they have been fascinated by the Samoan culture and how everyone in Samoa is so in tune with their tradition. They believe that Samoa is unique in its traditional ways.

“It’s nice to get away from home and explore what’s out there. I mean seeing is believing and we’ve heard so much about Samoa and its people, but coming here and experiencing it for ourselves is a great feeling ever.

“So here we are, and we are very happy.”

Mrs. Davies said they haven’t been to other parts of Samoa.

“But we’ve decided to take a tour ride with our friend ‘Inga the Winger’ soon and get a real fresh breeze from Samoa’s natural surroundings.”

Today is their last day before heading back to New Zealand tomorrow.

“Samoa is very hot, as I’ve mentioned earlier this is our first time here in Samoa and we are so looking forward to come back here again,”Mrs. Davies said smiling.

“Coming here is a great feeling ever.

“Today (yesterday) is our third day and we want to get a real taste of Samoa through its traditional food because we haven’t tasted any of it yet.

“But we’ll surely do that before heading back home.”

Mrs. Davies admitted that their honeymoon holiday so far has been absolutely fabulous.

“For us, we just can’t wait to go back home and tell our families and friends about Samoa because what we are looking at now, is when we come next time we’re going to bring our friends and families as well,” she said.

“But for the time being, we will try and go to as many places as we can so that we will know what to expect when we bring our family and friends over for holiday.

“We are enjoying every moment of this trip. Samoa is the friendliest of all the islands. It’s very peaceful and relaxing.”
