Some are small and can be solved.

Others are tough and could take a while.

Mr. Moa told Village Voice that issues happening with the young girls in Samoa due to lack communication between parents and children.

“We have seen so many issues within families lately and it is really messed up,” he said.

“Issues like incest is happening because the parents and children have no time for each other to come down and share about life and problems.”

Mr. Moa added that incest is a deteriorating problem and mothers need to be more proactive to protect their daugthers.

“Young girls and victims of this issue should always speak up about what is happening to them and should not hide it,” he said.

“Another thing that should be considered is that mothers should be aware of their girls before going outside of their houses. They should know where they are, who they are with and all those other details.”

Mr. Moa called for tougher penalties as a deterrent measure.

“The penalties for anyone committing this unlawful behavior must be serious and increase from the current penalty to something more.”

“The judiciary should step up and get the people who are doing this to be behind bars for good and for life.”

Lastly, Mr. Moa had a word for men and fathers.

“If you are doing this, shame on you. Stop it,” he said.
