Samoa Airways inaugural flight has just touched down in Auckland, New Zealand.

The full flight from Faleolo International Airport took off as scheduled at 7am.

The airport was buzzing this morning with many excited passengers and guests keen to check out what was in store.

The Airline was officially launched by Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi last night where he called on Samoans in Samoa and all over the world to get behind their national airline.

Liz Ah Hi of the Samoa Observer is on the inaugural flight.

A reception is being planned for the Samoan community in Auckland tonight to celebrate the occasion.

It followed a similar celebration at Taumeasina Island Resort last night.
