Murder accused gets legal aid help

A man, who is being accused for the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Satapuala in January this year, has had his application for legal aid granted.

The decision was announced in the Supreme Court on Monday.

Veteran lawyer, Tauiliili Harry Schuster, has been allocated to represent the 39-year-old Va’alagoa Kamilo Faumuina.

Supreme Court Justice, Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke, is presiding. 

The hearing has been adjourned without plea to Monday, 19 March, at 10am.

 “You are to be remanded in custody to reappear next week.”

Faumuina and the other four suspects are also charged with the cultivation of marijuana.

The young boy who was brutally murdered was identified as Uili Uili.

Police Superintendent, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo says additional charges are expected as investigation continues.
