Valley and mountain moments all part of journey called life

Life is what you make of it. What we become and how far we go depends on how we choose to deal with the cards that come our way. The truth is that this journey called life is not all roses.

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor, I refer to an article of Samoa Observer of 09/12/2017 (A.G rejects land threat) regarding the Attorney General’s rejection of land threat. There is something important that was overlooked by the Attorney General in the Article 102 of the Constitution in relation to the idea of “leasing”.

Dear Editor Re: Namualuulu Alama Ieremia’s new role I read very careful between the lines here. This was the coach that had mixed result with our boys and had been appointed by World Rugby, the colonial executive power running this conglomerate business.

Dear Editor Re: Advocate maintains land is under threat Hmmm. Who should we believe? An honorable Matai who works tirelessly for the common good of the Samoan people for their ability to hang onto their customary lands, or the P.M. who ridicules his people, calls them stupid, blames mothers for child poverty, oversees S.I.F.A., the unaccountable non transparent Samoan financial institution?

Where is our dignity?

When I read poetry, in my solitude, I often think of my love for my country and yours too. I think of the beauty of it, and how the essence of it all is a sweet caress on a troubled mankind’s forehead.

Breadfruit tree has many uses

This article deals exclusively with the food uses of the breadfruit then and now. THEN. Back in the early Polynesian times, when the breadfruit reached these islands they used just about everything needed to survive.

Between the Lines

LEARNING THE AIRLINES LINGO Heard the term “close in bookings”? Chances are, you are one of the many Samoans who fall into that category used by airlines to describe your booking when you travel.

SLOW DOWN PLEASE Those midnight rally drivers might want to be careful out there.

YOU’RE THE BEST! Admiration and thanks to the school pupils, supervised by teachers, for manning the pedestrian crossings near schools and keeping their many fellow students and drivers safe on our roads.

Think a Minute

Think a minute…In June, 2009 people all over the world were in shock and grief over the sudden death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Yet even though Michael was loved by hundreds of millions of people, his lawyer said: “Michael Jackson was the loneliest person I’ve ever known.”
