Why it is not growing

Dear Editor,

Re: Isolation and high imports challenge Samoa’s growth

I’m not afraid to use online services so fear is not the only reason the Samoan market is having a difficult time taking off.

Poor customer service and significantly higher prices than what they sell products for in the stores is why I don’t shop online for Samoa.

They post a price and then don’t honour the posted price claiming it was a mistake by an employee.

This is very poor customer relation. The difference in online prices and store prices speak for itself. I tried the service and thought it stunk so I don’t use it anymore.

It’s better for me to wire money to my family through Western Union than use Samoa’s online services. The Frankie’s online service is better for prices but they tack on that 12 NZ dollar fee on every order.

So again it’s just better to use WU.

I’d rather give my family the extra money. Until they get this people will continue to send cash and the people will have no need for bank accounts and credit cards. Too bad for the banks.
