The Vatican Family, a group of Catholics set up five years ago to visit the Pope in Rome, visited the Campus of Hope.

The Campus is part of the Samoa Victim Support Group (S.V.S.G).

Yesterday, the Vatican Family presented $2,000 to the President of the Samoa Victim Support Group, Muliagatele Lina Chang, to help with the basic needs of the children.

“This is the highlight of our work,” said the President of the Vatican Family, Ta’a Lo-Tam. “It was a pleasure to be able to visit and help the children under the care of the group.”

Ta’a thanked the President Muliagatele and the children for the amazing time they had.

The group was welcomed by traditional dances, songs and skits. Tears were seen in the eyes of the visitors as they were told about some of the stories of children at the shelter.

Ta’a said they were touched by the S.V.S.G’s humble beginnings and how the organization started with very little.

“If you waste a dollar think about them, if you can save a dollar, save it for the people of Samoa.”

President Muliagatele was speechless as she thanked the President of the Vatican Family for their support.
