The Police are investigating the death of man who was declared dead on arrival at the Motootua Emergency Ward on November 3.

The TTM Hospital staff notified the police that an old man was declared dead on arrival and preliminary investigations by the police indicated that the deceased had heart problems, based on information from family members. 

The deceased was found by relatives at his rented apartment at Malololelei. The police said their investigations are continuing.

In Savai’i at the Safotu District Hospital staff alerted the Fagamalo Police Post to the case of a 25-year-old female from the village of Letui, who was taken in for medical treatment. 

She is suspected of consuming the Agriq Paraquat chemical. 

The victim is alive and is currently undergoing treatment with police investigations continuing.
