Church, Government and Romans 13:1-6. Part II

Dear Editor,

So, given all the information as explained in the first part of my letter yesterday, I do believe, we can now draw a conclusion about the truth in (Romans 13:1-6). The truth is that the governing authorities in (Romans 13:1-6) are referring to the servants of God in the government of God at Church. If (Romans 13:1-6) is referring to the State government or the civil government then that sort of claim makes (Romans 13:1-6) a direct contradiction to the rest of the Bible. Not only that, but it also tells us that Paul himself was contradicting himself about his messages to the Christians of all Gentile churches he established.

That is, if it is really true that the governing authorities Paul encourages Christians to be submitted to are rulers and ministers of the State government or the civil government then what is the purpose of the government of God on earth? What is the point of Christ on earth? Did God call Paul to promote authorities and governments of other nations He disapproved since the beginning of Israel’s journey? And why did Paul and Luke teach a different message that is against Paul’s messages in (Romans 13:1-6) according to the Scriptures as quoted below?

(1 Corinthians 6:1-4) “Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?”

(Acts 13:45-47) “But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

(Acts 17:6-7) “But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. Jason has harbored them, and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king – Jesus.””

(Acts 26:17-18) ““I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I know send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance by faith in Me.””

(Acts 28:30) “Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.”

Finally, the governing authorities in the government of God such as rulers and ministers are based on Christ’s standard or the SHOULDER of Christ. It is not based on the person who “sits at the table.” It is not based on standards of kings of other nations such as greatness, power and force. It is based on the standards of the King of Israel; Jesus Christ.

The leaders of our national government are members of different Churches. They must always use the “shoulder” standard like Christ carried the cross on His shoulder to His death to serve our country. In other words, the leaders of our national government should never use greatness, power and force to rule our country. Samoa is not exile or in captivity. Samoa is under freedom because of the yoke and the cross that Christ carried on His shoulder.

If they need or want something out of the government of God, then ask first. The commandments and the Law of God are fixed principles and fixed authorities. Apart from that, if they need or want something out of customary lands such as “mortgages” then ask first.

The meaning of Article 102 and 109 in the Constitution about customary land is asked first. Use discussion and conversation like Jesus did to His disciples, the sinners, the poor and others in order to sort out their problems and the problems of the nation.

“Samoa is founded on God” is the reference of God that was framed by the “Founding Fathers” on the Constitution of Samoa. It is also the same reference to the faith of the “Founding Fathers.” They were not Church Ministers, they were not Lawyers, they did not have Doctors qualifications but they were saints because they were ruling in fear of God.
