Talofa Airways conquer mighty tall challenge

He’s done his dash in Samoa and now it’s time for the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen, to head to his next destination.

In this case, it is American Samoa.

The only issue is that with the size of the aircrafts servicing the route, it presented a mighty tall challenge.

But none too big for Talofa Airways, who happily stepped up to the plate yesterday. The Airline had to refit its aircraft to fly Kosen to Pago.

Apart from some anxious moments in trying to get him into the plane, Chief Executive Officer, Toleafoa Jeffrey Hunter and his Talofa Airways team did well.

Ringmaster, Tupa’i Bruno Loyale, who brought Kosen to Samoa, said yesterday was the first time for the tallest to travel in such a small aircraft. Seats had to be removed to allow him to travel.

“As you can see they’ve removed seats and we’ve got a cushion on the floor here and that’s the only way.

“Even sitting on the cushion, his head will clear the ceiling but that’s the only way to get him on the plane.

“It’s the only way to get him to American Samoa, as he is a little bit scared to go on the ship because of sea sickness and rough seas.”

Tupa’i acknowledged the Talofa Airways for everything they have done.

“We really thank Talofa Airways for helping us get him to American Samoa.

As for Kosen’s time in Samoa, Tupa’i said he has absolutely loved it.

“I think he really enjoyed his stay in Samoa,” he said.

“He fell I nlove with Samoa and last night (Wednesday) at the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel, they gave him a big fiafia night send off so he’s extremely happy and he’s excited because this is the first time he’s ever been on this type of an aircraft.”

And just like that, Kosen, the world’s tallest man, sent his love and bid farewell to Samoa.
