Baby Matauaina needs your help

Baby Matauaina Lee Kum, 3-months old, is in a critical condition.

And her parents, Aleni and Joyce Lee Kum of Tuana’i and Vaitele-tai, desperately need financial help to allow Joyce to accompany baby for her heart operation in New Zealand.

The three-month old baby girl suffers from congenital heart disease.

Matauaina is scheduled to be taken to New Zealand on Tuesday but the problem is her mother cannot afford to pay her fare.

“Our daughter was born on the 03rd December 2016,” the parents said in a statement.

“After one month, we came in the hospital for her first injection. We stayed for two days because she had pneumonia."

“Two weeks later, we came back on Friday for her second injection but things go considerably worse.”

The baby has been at the hospital now for four weeks.

One of the last attempts to give her a normal life is what could possibly be a life saving operation in New Zealand.

Matauaina’s mother has been told that the total cost of the fare is $1,583.30. She has to pay it before they travel on Tuesday.

“I’m hoping I get a help as soon as possible to travel with my daughter for her operation.”

Aleni and Joyce Lee Kum can be contacted on 7243772.
