Safety shoes please

It’s a given that some of our local firefighters don’t have the best of gear they need when they are out there risking their lives fighting fire.

Since we are a small country, it’s understandable that the authorities still don’t have a tall ladder, enough to climb the government building.

But the basics should at least be available.

In the case of the Chan Mow fire, it was a bit comical to watch as one firefighter didn’t have any safety boots on.

You guessed it right, he was in his slippers.

Unprepared for the worst, the firefighter broke one of his slippers and asked one of the bystanders if he could borrow his shoes.

Surely our government can afford some safety shoes for the firemen?

Come on, surely!
