Re: Flight cancellations
Flight delays happen, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept them.
Ask the airline to confirm the reason for the delay in writing.
Speaking from experience, the airline that I was booked to go on was delayed. I was told the engine stuffed up due to bad weather. . I was now thinking.
Okay but airlines sometimes cite ‘bad weather’ as the cause of flight disruption in order to alleviate themselves from issuing compensation especially knowing that other flights were operating @ the time.
Yes extreme weather conditions passengers are not eligible for compensation but in some cases, depending on the exact nature of ‘bad weather’ you could be entitled to claim compensation.
At the end of the day, there’s no harm in pursuing your rights. The airline with the engine problem as mentioned due to bad weather was not caused by bad weather but from those responsible for ensuring the aircraft was safe to operate. After debates and my complaint was put through that afternoon, I was then transferred to Aggie’s Resort to rest before my flight.
TYL. Lol. free room, and $100WST voucher for dinner at the restaurant. I didn’t want to go alone knowing 5 other men who I didn’t know including a Pastor were also at the airport early with me so I told them, hey let’s go.
If more passengers arrived at the airport that time since we were the only early ones there at the time, I would’ve taken the rest too so I felt for the others arriving later on.
These 5 men also had a room each at Aggie’s Resort, $100 voucher each for dinner. We had a good time alright although initiated from a bad experience. When they took us back to the airport after 9hrs I felt for the rest of the passengers who mentioned that they only received a $25 voucher to eat at the airport.
