A woman accused of running an alleged “immigration scam” that has cost a Fagamalo couple close to $20,000 has been issued a warrant of arrest.

The warrant against Alakoni Pinetuaoi was issued by the Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asu’e Falefatu Sapolu, in the Supreme Court yesterday when the matter was called.

“Since there is no appearance by the accused, a warrant of arrest is to be issued,” his Honour Patu said.

According to a Court Registrar, the charges against the accused have yet to be finalised.

The woman is the subject of a warning from a couple who claim to have been victimised by her actions.
