The management of the Manu Samoa team has yet to be finalised.

This was confirmed by the Samoa Rugby Union (S.R.U) Media official who assured that the public will be informed once a decision is made.

Contrary to reports that some of the old faces in Manu Samoa management have returned as part of Fuimaono Titimaea Tafua’s team, the S.R.U said this is not true.

“The Manu Samoa new Management has not yet being confirmed,” the Samoa Rugby Union Media said.

Manu Samoa Head Coach Fuimaono Titimaea Tafua is travelling with Samoa A to Uruguay in South America as the Technical Advisor.

He was recently reappointed to replace Namulauulu Alama Ieremia and has been given the task of getting Samoa to the next Rugby World Cup. He is confident about the task.

“When I took on the role back in 2009, our Manu Samoa had not qualified for the Rugby World Cup in 2011,” he said.

“I had to take the team through the whole qualification process. So it’s not a new task to me.

“I understand members of the public are anxious about the qualification for the World Cup but I think if we can sort out the first things first and if we are able to get the support from the public, we will give this a good shot.”

Fuimaono is under no illusion about the enormity of the task ahead.

But he is grateful for the opportunity given to him by the Samoa Rugby Union.

“I feel honoured and privileged to be given this role,” he said. “I am a servant of Samoan rugby and I will do my best to make Samoa proud of their team.”
