Faces at the 48th Pacific Islands Forum Meeting
The Small Island States (S.I.S.) Leaders Meeting kicked off a series of meetings in the build up to the 48th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Apia, which was officially opened last night.
Members of S.I.S. include Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau and Tuvalu. The Smaller Island States grouping was established in 2005 to facilitate special assistance to those Forum countries that experience limited development capacity and a fragile and vulnerable environment.
Later on Monday, the Polynesian Leaders Group held their meeting at the same hotel. Yesterday’s proceedings started with the Pacific A.C.P. Leaders Meeting, prior to the official opening last night.
Hundreds of delegates are in Samoa for the Forum. Here are just some of the faces. Photos: Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
