Member of Parliament, Leatinu’u Wayne So’oialo, is fuming as a reckless driver has left him with a $10,000 damage bill.

The Parliamentarian took to social media to express his frustration at the driver of a Toyota Hilux Double Cab Lic#05**, which damaged his vehicle outside a Frankie supermarket before the New Year.

“We know who you are and Police are still waiting for you to come forward. My truck (Ford Ranger) is insured but you have to own up sir,” he posted on Facebook.

Responding to questions from the Samoa Observer, Leatinu’u said the Police are waiting for the vehicle and its owner to come forward.

“The quote for the damages left on my car is between $8000 and $10,000 to repair it,” he added.

This newspaper contacted Superintendent Soloi Iosefa Tuimaunei, who is in charge of traffic division, but he referred the questions to the Commissioner of Police Fuiavaili’ili Egon Keil.

Emails sent to the Police Commissioner and his Secretary did not get a response at the time of going to press.
