The Manu Samoa team has left for San Sebastian in Spain to begin preparations to take on U.S.A. in their first match of their Northern Hemisphere tour.

The two teams lock horns this Saturday November 10 which will mark the first time they are meeting after over three years. The match will be played at Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian. The last time the two teams met, the Manu Samoa claimed a 16-25 victory over the Eagles in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Va’aelua Aloi Alesana, the Manu Samoa team manager, posted an update of the team’s travel and preparations on the RugbyCleek.com website.

Posting an update from the Holiday Inn on Guildford Egerton Road in Guildford, Surrey in the United Kingdom, Va’aelua said the team left for San Sebastian yesterday with 31 players and 10-member management team.

He said the weather in London is a challenge but everyone including the coach and players are in good health.

“Very cold weather here in London with temperature averaging at 3-5 degrees in the mornings. Everyone are all in good health, from the head coach Steve Jackson and management as well as all the players,” he said.

The Manu Samoa team and management arrived in London October October 28 and met up with players from the Northern hemisphere. A lotu preceded the team’s meeting and player introductions with everyone expressing excitement at being part of the Manu Samoa NHT 2018 as well as the chance to serve Samoa through the sport they love.

As the American Eagles and Manu Samoa get deeper into their World Cup preparations, the internationals this month will provide a platform for both teams to solidify their position for the road ahead.
