Well done to our govt.

Tofālagi Samuelu from the village of Falevao is happy with the idea by the government to encourage people to start developing agriculture again in Samoa.

He says-“This is a really good challenge.

“I totally agree with this because agriculture contributes a lot to the economy of our country.

“Our ancestors depended on our lands and it will be a waste to leave our lands uncultivated.

“You can earn a lot of money from agriculture and I am thankful that the government is pushing and encouraging our people to work on the lands.”

“The current government is doing an excellent job in developing our country. I take my hat off to our Prime Minister and his cabinet for doing a fantastic job to improve the lives of our people.

“A lot of people also say that there is poverty in Samoa.  “But to me, there is no poverty in Samoa. This is because we have lands and the sea to depend on for food. We are fortunate to have lands to work on for free.

“Most of us are not using their lands wisely. We need to start working on our plantations again because agriculture plays an important part in the economy of our country. It can also help to develop our families. You can grow crops for food and for money. Same goes to the sea as well.

“These are all God’s gift for us, and if you abandon our lands and depend on imported goods and products from the shops, then we will end up suffering.

“We need to use our lands wisely.”

He also praised the government for doing an excellent job in developing our country.

“I take my hat off to our Prime Minister and his Cabinet for a great job in developing Samoa.

“Lives have been improved, and we all benefit from the different developments they are doing.  “For example, we have good quality roads now in most parts of Samoa, new school buildings, hospitals and many more.

“Those are the things we didn’t have back then, but I am really happy with the government.

“Life may be different for us in the village compare to Apia, but we can have access to most things offer in Apia as well.”
