While the Fund for Ele Opeloge had officially closed a week ago, the Tanoa Tusitala were not to be denied their chance to show the Olympian medallist how they felt about her success.

Yesterday, the staff at the hotel made a last minute contribution to the ‘Samoa Observer – Ele’s Fund’ with a donation of $1, 500.

The Operation and Sales Manager, Selau Solofa presented Ele their contribution and congratulated her on a job well done.

The Tanoa staff also presented Ele a beautifully hand painted artwork  which accurately captures the passion Ele shows when weightlifting.

It had been painted by a Leulumoega Fou student.

For her part, Ele was able to show them her Olympic Silver medal which sparked many photo opportunities with the staff.

After an exhausting morning in the hot sun, Ele still had her classic smile that lights up a room.

The softly-spoken Olympian, thanked the staff at Tanoa sincerely for their contributions and their recognition of her achievement at the most prestigious world sport event.
