The long wait to find out the Toa Samoa team to play Fiji Bati at Apia Park this Saturday is over. The cat is out of the bag with the naming of the Toa Samoa team yesterday at the S.N.P.F Plaza. Lauaki Fred Tuilagi introduced the players.

The announcement also gave the opportunity for members of the public to mingle and meet the players.  Matt Parish, the Head Coach, is confident in his selection.

“The team is full of young and exciting young players and they’ve got plenty of good football in front of them,” he said.

“And we’ve also had some experienced players who played in the last World Cup and Four Nation’s tournaments and the Pacific Test.  “I have absolute faith in our team, they are all good players and some of them are stars in the N.R.L. and they already are stars.”

He added that preparations have been going very well.

“We have about five to six exciting young players playing for the Toa Samoa for the first time. “They are very young players and we are very much looking forward to seeing them play on Saturday in a national arena.”

The game has been billed as the battle of the titans.

“It’s going to be a physical game that’s how all Pacific nations’ teams are. “But we have a very, very good team and we need you all to come down and support us on Saturday because we are up against a very tough team from Fiji.”
