Waiting for an announcement

Dear Editor,

As the standoff continues between the Parliamentary and Judiciary Arms of our Government where the Prime Minister at his Ministerial Statement issued in the Legislative Assembly first session of 2017; reprimanded the Land and Titles Judges and leveled excessively strong criticisms against them, I am wondering as the current status of Applications that closed on October 21st 2016 for a “Lone Judge” is at this moment.

Because neither the Office of the C.E.O. nor the Office of the Chairman of the Judicial Committee [that is the Chief Justice] made an effort to publicly announce to the nation especially the applicants of its progress for transparency.

In addition, a complete Restructure or the Separation of the two Courts is likely to be implemented under a new legislation to be carried out urgently, the Prime Minister said. So if that is the case, which I believe the executive government is eager to happen as soon as the new legislation will bring then what?

The Prime Minister was very clear in his Parliamentary Statement. He

said “that once the Report of the Parliament - ordered Inquiry is approved “all positions of the Land and Titles Judges will be opened.”

This again will be under the proposed new law and from the tone of the Prime Minister’ voice on TV, his government together with more than two third majority of government M.Ps will never back down.
