COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION INITIATIVE AWARD: Felauaiga Vaatolu (pictured) has a million reasons to be proud of her mother, Leuluaialiiotumua Faagutu Samuelu – Vaatolu, the Assistant Chief Executive Officer with Corrections, Enforcement & Maintenance Division

The 8 year old accepted her mother’s award from the Public Service Commission as Mrs. Vaatolu is in Savai’i on official business.

For Vaatolu’s outstanding services, she is the recipient of the Community Participation Initiative Award.

The A.C.E.O. is complimented by the P.S.C. as “the driving force behind the Parole and Probation Service unit’s success with regards to their work in the communities.”

“Her competencies attained which has allowed her to lead, manage and guide the successful activities of this unit is through their community participative approach in recognizing Samoan customs and traditions in sentencing, rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders,” the PSC acknowledged.

The Initiative includes her contribution to:

Forging and sustaining partnership with the community through effectively managing community based sentences and providing information to the Courts and Parole Board.
