Eels and Tornadoes share top of Super 9 table

The second round of the Super 9 Rugby Championships competition kicked off last Saturday. The Super 9 is the new tournament that has replaced the National Provincial Cup (NPC) tournament held in previous years.

The tournament features Under20 teams and Senior A teams.   Now after the second round of Super 9, Eels and Tornadoes are on top of the table after securing two consecutive wins.

The Eels won an entertaining match against the Eagles last Saturday at Apia Park Stadium.

There were other fixtures which saw the Knights taking on Legends in ACP Marist Stadium, Chiefs against Navigators at St Josephs College Alafua, and Warriors against Tornadoes at Vailoa Palauli in Savaii. 

Eels and Tornadoes now sitting on the top spot with a back-to-back wins of 10 points each, while the Chiefs are sitting in second spot with 9 points also undefeated since Round 1. 

The Legends are sitting on 3rd spot with one point margin on top of Eagles, the bottom 4 teams equally will be battling hard together to put points for their tallies. 

SUPER 9 Rugby competition will continue to take place within the next 7 weeks, with respective fellow Rugby teams vying to write history for becoming the first SUPER 9 Rugby Championships Champs, for the first time.
