What the real issue is

Dear Editor

Re: Samoa shamed in ‘worst forms of child labour’ report

Well Samoa doesn’t put children to hours of work a day with no rest.

The Samoan children that sell stuff on the street are actually quite lazy and do nothing, they are not made to work, they just don’t go to school like they should. The United States Bureau of International Labor should actually try to get a real story before they start accusing and pointing the finger.

The kids work for their own money and nobody put them to work so I don’t know what this labour s*** is.

The thing is there is no way for Samoan parents to pay for school because of all the economy and rich countries paying for benefits for themselves (affecting the way other countries live) even with a substantial effort where can the Samoan P.M. put it?

And with the system as a whole in turmoil in Samoa, you can understand why the parents in Samoa can’t afford simple school fees and why these kids don’t have a future. Definitely not if they are not at school.
